Back 2 Life, Back 2 Reality

Just a short one this. On my phone calendar I have an all day event set for the first of each month. It's label is "review day". I always meant to write one of the strange and veiled posts like the one below on the fall of a new 1/12 segment of the year, but somehow something like 4 months have passed by without me writing a word.

So, to act as a brief overview. I've broken ties with the King of the Jungle. I met him through a thick haze indeed and when I finally saw a path through the fog I realised that being part of a political/philosophical YouTube channel probably wasn't for me. I also realised that I can't write a book on C or HTML or any other programming language for that matter. It'd be nice to write some sort of book one day, but for now I'll just focus on partially relearning my craft.

And that craft seems to be programming. More specifically, and it makes me quite squeamish to use the term for some banal reason (cough cough, broken toys), my craft seems to be "coding" (ugh...) because I'm frolicking around in the happy fields of HTML5, CSS and jQuery. I've written 3 horribly simple websites so far:

www.jteam.co.uk

www.musicboxchester.com

www.jasonbrewer.co.uk

I confess. I have put those links there for potently nostalgic purposes. It'll be fun to see if I can remember where each of them were when I first posted them. (Think Tom Cruise teeth, "Flute and that", web dev + gym = happy?) Hopefully they'll all still be online and far more professional looking in the years to come. Because that's it isn't it! There are years to come!

Still yet to kick off the freelance career thing though, hm. There's time for that too.

But in other news we seem to have stopped swinging from tree to tree as mentioned in the previous post with the help of some control tabs. Which seem all fine and dandy for the time being. The worst thing about the current moment is my complete lack of regard for my sims style social red/green bar. Need to sort that one.

Finally, I went for a walk with Mamma bear down the Greenway today and she likened a broken brain to a dysfunctional zoo. In this zoo, as in every zoo, there are many enclosures. This particular zoo has a very poorly designed electronic security system such that when it fails every single door to every single enclosure flies open. She talked for a little bit about how when something goes wrong in this zoo the bison slowly start to realise they can get out. And then the wolves realise and everything starts to go decidedly Peter Tong. As per usual, she articulated it rather more succinctly than that but I thought I'd write it down here for posterity.

Am I going to read this blog when I'm old? I hope so.

This one didn't end up being that short I suppose. And it loosely took the format of a stream of consciousness. Plan your work better next time, Mr. Brewer!
